Etymology
Provenance
In Hanuman’s Heart, devotion becomes visible in its most powerful form. The divine devotee opens his chest to reveal Rama and Sita seated within his heart, surrounded by intricate scenes from the Ramayana. His reverent gaze turns upward, while the sun, moon, ocean, and gathered Vanara figures extend the sacred narrative beyond his physical form.
The artwork draws upon the timeless imagery of Indian devotional and miniature traditions, particularly the sacred relationship between Hanuman and Rama. Rich antique golds, deep greens, vermilion, and celestial blues combine with elaborate jewellery and finely rendered narrative scenes to evoke the character of an illuminated manuscript. The contrast between Hanuman’s monumental form and the miniature world contained within him transforms devotion into a visual landscape of its own.
