Etymology
Provenance
Padma Lakshmi reimagines Goddess Lakshmi through the clean geometry and restrained visual language of Indo-Bauhaus design. Seated upon a blooming lotus and holding flowers in her hands, the figure is composed through bold planes, simplified forms, and a harmonious arrangement of earthy tones.
Muted terracotta, olive green, ochre, deep charcoal, and warm ivory create a grounded palette, while the golden halo introduces a quiet sense of radiance. Architectural arches, stepped forms, and a stylised lamp bring a distinctly modern structure to the devotional imagery.
The composition balances sacred symbolism with contemporary abstraction, transforming familiar elements of Lakshmi iconography into a work suited to modern interiors. It is a study in symmetry, geometry, and the enduring visual language of prosperity and abundance.
