Aatish builds its field on a deep red ground — the colour of Afghani and Herati workshop masterpieces, the colour that carries warmth and weight in equal measure — and places a geometric star medallion at its centre that burns outward with the precision of a crystalline form. The ivory and navy within the star create the contrast that makes the geometry visible, the angles and points reading with clarity against the rich ground.
Woven by hand in Uttar Pradesh using Silk Wool Blend, Aatish draws on the geometric medallion tradition of the great tribal and classical workshops. The star medallion is among the oldest forms in the carpet canon — pre-botanical, pre-arabesque, belonging to the moment when pattern was pure geometry before nature was invited in.
