Art Print Set – “Vahana”: Vishnu on Garuda and Lakshmi on the White Elephant, Set of 2

Provenance

'Vahana' is a pair of art prints showing Vishnu and Lakshmi on their divine mounts, designed to hang side by side. Each deity is drawn with long, elegant lines and simplified, elongated forms against a plain olive ground, so the two panels read as a matched set that is both devotional and distinctly modern.

On the left, a blue, four-armed Vishnu sits astride Garuda, holding a discus, a conch, a pink lotus and a mace. Garuda is shown as a crowned, long-legged bird with great brown, cream and gold wings and a jewelled collar. On the right, a four-armed Lakshmi in a red sari rides a white elephant, holding two pink lotuses, raising one hand in blessing and tipping a golden pot from which coins spill. The elephant wears gold bands and tassels and a red saddle cloth embroidered with a lotus.

Olive, ivory, gold, blue and red form a warm, balanced palette, with each deity's colouring repeated across the two prints. The stretched legs of the mounts and the open background give the pair a graceful vertical rhythm. Hung together, they suit an entrance, a living room or a puja corner.
