Material
The blending of textile fibres is a deliberate craft, bringing together materials with complementary qualities to create a surface that is greater than the sum of its parts. A silk and wool blend, for instance, marries the inherent strength, softness, and lustre of silk with the warmth, elasticity, and resilience of wool. The result is a material of exceptional depth, texture, and durability, balancing visual sophistication with everyday performance. As light moves across the surface, the silk subtly reflects while the wool absorbs, creating a rich interplay of tone and dimension that enhances the beauty of the design.

Provenance
The boteh — that ancient teardrop form — organises the entire field in Bostaan: a grid of compartments, each framing its own floral cartouche. Against an ivory ground, the navy border frames the composition with the authority of a formal enclosure — the garden wall that gives the garden its meaning.
Woven by hand in Uttar Pradesh using Silk Wool Blend, Bostaan belongs to the Persian garden carpet tradition — one of the most ancient formats in the weaving canon. The grid structure, the enclosed compartments, the botanical abundance within each cell: these design choices recur across centuries of Persianate carpet-making. The ivory field carries the Silk Wool Blend’s natural luminosity; the navy border achieves its depth through careful dyeing that the Silk Wool Blend fibre holds with particular tenacity.
Bostaan rewards the room that organises itself around pattern. In a formal drawing room where the floor is treated as a surface to be read, the compartment grid provides an architectural structure beneath the furniture arrangement. In a handwoven Silk Wool Blend rug, the boteh pattern arrives at its most refined expression: each cell a small completed world, the whole field a garden in full order.
