Etymology
Provenance
Inspired by Chapter Seven of the Bhagavad Gita, this print explores Jnana Vijnana Yoga, the Yoga of Knowledge and Realization. Krishna reveals to Arjuna the nature of His divine reality, explaining that all existence arises from His two forms of nature: the material elements that constitute the visible world and the higher spiritual nature that sustains all living beings.
The artwork portrays Krishna seated in divine splendour beside Arjuna, with a flowing chain of circular scenes extending across the composition. Water, fire, mountains, forests, animals, celestial bodies, and human figures appear as interconnected manifestations of the cosmic order, reflecting Krishna's teaching that all creation is woven through the Divine and ultimately rests upon Him.
Richly ornamented with gold detailing, intricate patterns, and jewel-like imagery, the composition draws from the visual language of classical Indian miniature and manuscript traditions. The interconnected scenes transform Chapter Seven's philosophical teachings into a visual meditation on divine presence, cosmic nature, spiritual knowledge, and the unity underlying all creation.
