Shyam is a wooden photo frame with a dark hand-painted finish and a warm aged-gold inner edge. The frame has a deep stepped profile, broad at the outside and drawn inward toward the photograph, giving it weight without excess ornament.
The outer surface is dark and still, closer to old polished wood than a flat painted black. Around the photograph, the inner bevel carries a softened metallic finish — rubbed, warm, and slightly uneven in tone. This contrast is what gives the frame its character: shadow at the edge, light at the centre.
Made to hold a 7×5 inch photograph, Shyam can be placed in either portrait or landscape orientation. It is suited to portraits, family photographs, small works on paper, or any image that asks for a quiet, formal setting.
As with all handcrafted objects, slight variations in colour, surface finish, and dimensions are inherent to the making process — evidence of the hand, not defects.
