Etymology
Provenance
This artwork presents Lord Krishna through the refined language of Indo-Bauhaus design, where sacred Indian iconography is distilled into bold geometric forms and balanced colour fields. The peacock feather, sacred tilak, and divine flute preserve Krishna’s timeless identity, while a graceful jharokha frames a blooming white lotus. A radiant golden orb completes the composition with a sense of quiet harmony.
In Hindu tradition, Krishna embodies divine love, wisdom, compassion, and lila—the cosmic play through which the universe unfolds. The flute symbolises the soul’s call towards spiritual awakening, the peacock feather represents beauty and unity, and the lotus stands for purity, transcendence, and inner awakening. Rich indigo and cerulean hues recall Shyama, Krishna’s rain-cloud complexion, traditionally associated with boundless consciousness.
Inspired by Bauhaus principles of simplicity and balance, the composition reimagines these sacred forms through circles, triangles, and clean architectural geometry. A restrained palette of indigo, ochre, charcoal, and warm ivory creates a sophisticated dialogue between India’s devotional heritage and the enduring elegance of modern design.
