Provenance
This dresser draws from the metal-clad furniture traditions of Jaipur, Rajasthan — a region long celebrated for its architectural grandeur, ornamental detailing, and master metalwork. Inspired by the rhythmic geometry seen in palace doors, fort gateways, and antique trunks, the piece translates historic brass craftsmanship into a contemporary storage form.
Each brass sheet is individually cut, shaped, and hand-fitted onto a solid wood base, then secured with rows of tiny brass rivets. The result is a tactile patchwork surface that balances repetition with subtle variation — a hallmark of handcrafted work. Over time, the brass develops a natural patina, deepening its warmth and enhancing its lived character.
Rooted in Rajasthani artisanal traditions yet designed for modern interiors, this dresser stands as both storage and sculptural statement — echoing Jaipur’s architectural poetry in functional form.
