Provenance
The trellis is the garden's architecture: the structure on which the botanical grows, the support that allows climbing plants to organise themselves vertically and horizontally across a flat surface. In Mausam, this structure becomes the carpet's organising principle — a green and gold trellis grid across an ivory field, each intersection a node of botanical ornament, the climbing stems and blooms following the trellis geometry with the apparent naturalness of a garden trained over generations. The result is a carpet that feels both grown and made.
Woven by hand in Uttar Pradesh using Silk Wool Blend, Mausam draws on the trellis tradition — one of the carpet formats most directly derived from the physical structure of the garden, where the walled enclosure and its trained vegetation are translated into a surface pattern. The green and gold in Silk Wool Blend achieve a particular complementary richness: the green of mature foliage, the gold of seed and flower at their peak.
