Etymology

“Radha” comes from Sanskrit, meaning ‘devotion’ or ‘worship’, embodying divine love and surrender, while “Krishna” means ‘the all-attractive one’, the central figure of Vaishnav tradition. “Vanvihar” refers to the sacred forest sojourns of Radha and Krishna, symbolising divine play, intimacy with nature, and the blissful union of the soul with the divine

This sacred composition captures Radha and Krishna in a moment of quiet closeness, where devotion unfolds through tenderness rather than spectacle. Set within a lush forest landscape, the figures lean into one another, accompanied by the gentle presence of the cow and flowering trees. The surface is richly articulated through Zardozi style metallic embroidery, Aari chain stitching, Kashida surface work, and subtle Gota accents, lending texture and depth to garments, foliage, and adornment.
