The ground is ivory, and against it an all-over dense floral composition in multiple colours unfolds without restraint: rose, teal, gold, sage, coral — the full palette of the classical Persian botanical vocabulary, present simultaneously, without hierarchy or focal point. Woven by hand in Uttar Pradesh using Silk Wool Blend, Rangin belongs to the most ornate end of the traditional carpet tradition. The ivory ground allows every colour to read at maximum saturation.
