Material
The blending of textile fibres is a deliberate craft, bringing together materials with complementary qualities to create a surface that is greater than the sum of its parts. A silk and wool blend, for instance, marries the inherent strength, softness, and lustre of silk with the warmth, elasticity, and resilience of wool. The result is a material of exceptional depth, texture, and durability, balancing visual sophistication with everyday performance. As light moves across the surface, the silk subtly reflects while the wool absorbs, creating a rich interplay of tone and dimension that enhances the beauty of the design.

Provenance
Burgundy and teal against ivory — a palette of deep, considered richness, where neither the warm nor the cool tone dominates but each holds the other in calibrated tension across the field. Samar distributes small medallions across the ivory ground in a scatter format — not the single central medallion of the formal tradition, but a repeating medallion motif that covers the field with the regularity of a woven textile pattern, each unit complete in itself, the whole reading as an even, rich surface.
Woven by hand in Uttar Pradesh using Silk Wool Blend, Samar draws on the medallion scatter tradition — a format that belongs to the space between the all-over botanical and the single-medallion carpet, using a repeating medallion motif to create overall surface coverage with a more geometric character than purely botanical fills. The burgundy Silk Wool Blend achieves a depth that is impossible to capture in photography — the colour appearing to have layers, to hold light differently depending on pile direction. The teal provides the cool counterpoint that makes the burgundy appear richer by contrast.
Samar is for rooms that want depth and pattern without the single-point formality of the central medallion. The scatter format creates a floor that is equally rich in every part — furniture can be arranged freely without regard for a central focal point, because every area of the carpet carries the same quality. In a library or sitting room with dark wood and leather, the burgundy deepens the interior's warmth. In a room with paler materials, it introduces the depth that makes the surrounding lightness appear considered rather than simply pale.
