Provenance
Grey is the most modern of the Jamawar palettes, a ground that tempers the richness of paisley ornament with a cool, metallic calm. Paired here with lilac and muted aubergine, it gives the traditional botanical vocabulary of the Jamawar a soft, contemporary edge without stripping it of its intricacy.
This stole unfolds a Jamawar composition of paisleys, flowering vines and small floral sprays in lilac and smoky aubergine across a pale sage-grey ground. Bands of denser paisley ornament in deeper purple-grey run along the ends and edges, giving the design a framed, structured rhythm, and the stole finishes in a fine fringe. The interplay of light ground and darker border lends the piece depth as it is draped.
