A young woman sits beneath a flowering tree, her dress the same colour as its blossoms, lost in longing. The painting illustrates the Sat Sai, a collection of Hindi verses by the poet Bihari on love, beauty, and separation, widely illustrated in the northern Indian courts. The original was commissioned for a royal collection in the hill kingdoms of northern India and now hangs in the Cleveland Museum of Art. This print is the only way to own it.
