Provenance
In Nathdwara, art is worship. And among its most sacred images is Shrinathji, the child-god Krishna, radiant and immovable, caught mid-blessing.
This blue Pichwai painting reimahines that stillness through an arresting, almost celestial palette. Deep indigo and soft azure surround the deity, echoing the cosmic nature of Krishna. The colour blue here is not just the backdrop, it's a threshold into the divine.
24k gold foil is carefully applied to Shrinathji's adornments, his jewels, cown and sacred emblems, bringing a glow that flickers like temple flame. The floral motifs that encircle him are delicately painted in the traditional Pichwai style, grounding the composition in centuries of ritual and craftsmanship.
This piece was drawn from the living tradition of Nathdwara, where Shrinathji is clothed, sung to, and honoured in daily acts of devotion. Every brushstroke here is a part of that inheritance.
