Material
The blending of textile fibres is a deliberate craft, bringing together materials with complementary qualities to create a surface that is greater than the sum of its parts. A silk and wool blend, for instance, marries the inherent strength, softness, and lustre of silk with the warmth, elasticity, and resilience of wool. The result is a material of exceptional depth, texture, and durability, balancing visual sophistication with everyday performance. As light moves across the surface, the silk subtly reflects while the wool absorbs, creating a rich interplay of tone and dimension that enhances the beauty of the design.

Provenance
Woven by hand in Uttar Pradesh using Silk Wool Blend, Sehar belongs to the formal runner tradition, reimagined in a transitional palette suited to contemporary interiors. Its open ivory field carries three repeated floral medallions, evenly spaced along the runner's length and connected by a fine arabesque scrollwork that fills the surrounding ground without crowding it. The result is a runner of balanced visual density - decorative without being dense, traditional in structure but light in overall effect.
The triple-medallion arrangement is a variation on the single central medallion of the classical Persian runner, distributing the focal motif along the field to suit the corridor's extended proportions. Each medallion is built from a floral core surrounded by scrolling arabesque tendrils, a motif vocabulary with deep roots in Persian and Mughal court ornament, where vegetal scrollwork was used to suggest continuous, unbounded growth. The narrow border, finished with a blue tassel fringe, frames the composition without competing with the medallions for visual weight.
The ivory ground provides an open, luminous canvas for the teal and rust accents that animate each medallion and its surrounding scrollwork. Teal supplies a cool counterpoint to the warmth of the rust, and the pairing of the two against ivory gives Sehar a fresher, more contemporary character than the deep-ground runners in the collection. Sehar is the lightest in visual weight among the runner formats, suited to the interior that wants a corridor floor that reads as considered rather than dominant.
